A quick how to remove your old car window decal before you fit a new one.
You will need the following…
A hair dryer
A stanley blade or our vinyl removal tool <— available here
Glass Cleaner
Fairy Liquid (teaspoon full)
Hot (not boiling) water
Take your hairdryer and Removal blade
Warm the decal in small areas don’t think oh I’ll warm the lot as it will take forever ?
As it warms (not hot) start to push the blade under the edge of the decal and it will lift away very easily and peel off.
Don’t stab at it! you don’t want to scratch the glass it’s literally just to get the first bit lifted away from the window before you peel it off.
Once you have removed the decal, spray the window with a good quality glass cleaner then dry completely.
Now with a mix of fairy liquid (1 teaspoon to 1 litre) and hot water and give it a really good clean ensuring you remove any glass cleaner residue and completely dry.
DO NOT USE glass cleaner or polish after the fairly liquid wash as this will damage the new decals adhesive and destroy the adhesive.
